Three Signs You Need A Detox (That You’re Misinterpreting)

There are many benefits of doing a quick detox, and there are many different ways to go about it. But how do you know if you need one, anyways? Is your body giving you signs that you need a detox, that you may be interpreting incorrectly? This is a common occurrence. An example of this, is frequent headaches. In the past, I had a headache almost daily for a long time, and often treated the symptom by taking a Motrin, and ignoring the message my body was trying to give me.

A bumpy beginning of adulthood, and years of crappy-eating were starting to catch up with me. What I was unaware of was that a small detox would remove those pesky headaches from my life!

But, there are many other ways that your body may be telling you to rid your body of the toxins you’ve built up through the years. Yes, our bodies have amazing filtration systems, and can usually rid themselves of the toxins with no help. But we have so many things wrong with our food industry that our bodies are having a hard time keeping up!

One sign that you need a detox (that you’re probably misinterpreting) is acne, rosacea, and itchy skin, according to an article titled “12 Signs You Need to Detox” by Sara Gottfried MD. There are so many different acne products that you could resort to when you find yourself mid-breakout, but something a lot of people don’t realize that your body could be telling you to flush your system.

Another signal your body may be giving you is unpleasant body odor, according to an article titled “How Do I Know I Need to Detox” published by Live Lighter. This is another one that many don’t correlate with the need to detox.

The last sign that many misinterpret is unexplained soreness or stiffness upon waking.

According to an article titled “10 Signs Your Body is Screaming at You for a Detox” published by Bembu, “When you have toxins in the body that need to come out you are more likely to suffer from inflammation, because many of the foods and beverages that cause toxicity also lead to inflammation. If you’ve never done a detox to flush these toxins from the body, they build up over the years and can lead to premature and undue soreness and stiffness in the body.”

Many will go as far as buying a new mattress to fix the problem, never realizing the answer is so much simpler.

It is important to remember that while going through the detox, symptoms often become worse because the toxins are being released. After the detox is over, the unfortunate symptoms should subside.

It is also important to do your research when considering a detox, and consult a medical professional.
