“Biggest Loser” trainer Jen Widerstrom has spent a good chunk of her life working out and eating a healthy diet.

Her Instagram is proof that she’s not messing around when it comes to personal fitness:
But taking a good photo doesn’t mean she’s the perfect human. Just the other day she was reminded of something many of us feel when we look in the mirror.
She told People Magazine that even she feels insecure sometimes:
“I was recently doing a photo shoot and feeling great about the day, yet I looked down and saw my stomach and immediately got insecure. I started to get in my head and really down on myself for my body. Even glammed up and in amazing clothes, I experience these thoughts – it’s normal!”
She posted these two images on her Instagram, showing her stomach rolls when she sits down:
She writes, in part:
“We all look like this when we sit. Don’t stress about the way your body looks in certain positions. These photos were taken 2 minutes apart!”
The 34-year-old “Biggest Loser” trainer, who replaced longtime host Jillian Michaels, wanted to make her followers feel better about themselves, even if they are working hard to lose weight:
“I had to post this because I need people to feel less alone. I experience the same insecurities and negative headspace that everybody else does.I feel the reaction has been so large because it perhaps has given others permission to accept their bodies, and not label them in certain ways just because they’re sitting in certain positions. I may be in the public eye, but we’re all the same.”
At the same time, fans could take this to mean that no matter how hard they work, a perfect body may always be just out of reach, even for the professionals.
It’s also a little dicey, considering the fact that her show has received negative feedbackrecently for allegedly promoting unhealthy practices, including the use of weight loss drugs.
Regardless, since being published just two days ago, the post has gained over 19,000 likes and hundreds of comments, most of which were very positive.
“Yes! I love the transparency and showing ‘real life.'””This picture amazes me. You’re so strong and confident. I wish every woman could see this post.”
“Thank you for this post. I think we forget about this a lot, especially when following fitness people for motivation, instead it can turn into discouragement. This shows the reality of angles and to not look down on myself when I sit down and my pooch pops out.”
Just goes to show that everyone, even trainers, have their flaws—and that’s perfectly fine.
